Rimutaka electorate will be interesting
Ron Mark is standing for Rimutaka for NZ First this election. Young Chris Hipkins is the Labour candidate. Ron Mark could win this and if he does, Winston Peters will be in Parliament.

I think you need to check out the National Party candidate before you start making such silly suggestions! With recent boundary changes and Paul Swain standing down National see Rimutaka as a winnable electorate. Besides the best Mark could do here in Waimakariri was 10% of the 2005 vote after 3 attempts!
With Ron Mark not only having done the finger in Parliament but also his recent separation from his wife and 5 children to run off with a parliamentary staffer will not endear him to a conservative Rimutaka electorate. To cap it off a conviction for underage sex is not a good look either!
Rimutaka is Labour country all the way. If the National Party thought they had any chance they would have stood a credible candiate (not someone they dump at the very bottom of their list). The last time a Nat was elected in Upper Hutt he jumped ship to NZ First, leaving a very sour taste in the mouth of locals. Hipkins will bolt in.
